Went to Jerusalem (the restaurant, not the city) on a Tuesday for a late lunch. We ordered the baba ghanoush appetizer, falafel sandwhich, and chicken schawarma. Everything was awesome! We plan on going back again tomorrow! The staff was friendly and prompt, and the prices were great. Only positive things to say about this place. Check it out!

Excellent Falafel. Staff is friendly and helpful. I also recommend the chicken liver sandwich. The only negative is the size of the place. It's relatively small and usually populated with locals that like to sit and smoke, and smoke. If you are a non-smoker like me, the taste of cigarette smoke with your food is a real turn off. Parking is extremely limited. There are several parking for fee lots around if you plan to spend time in the area.

Really fantastic experience here. If you follow my reviews you'll see that I don't hand out five star reviews often...lol My parents and I rolled in here at around 5:20 on a Friday. There were no cars in the lot. And no people inside. We were seated, and waited on by a super nice waitress. I am so upset I cannot remember her name. We were then informed that they normally close the kitchen at 5:30 to begin preparations for observing Shabbat but since we were seated, they would serve us. They were not at all rude about this and my mother kind of hinted that gosh, maybe we should leave, we feel awful, but we were encouraged to stay. We got a complimentary King David's salad with naan, which was explained so delightfully by our waitress. It consisted of four little bowls of various salad type foods- an ambrosia, a tomato based salad with pine nuts, a cold pasta salad and another that I can't explain. We ate all four. And the two generous, warm, oily, delicious pillows of naan. For dinner I had ordered the beef shawarma, but they were out so I got the beef kebabs. Two perfectly seasoned nubbers of beef over saffron rice with salad. My mum, who is not an adventurous eater at all, settled on Moroccan fish in red sauce, which she enjoyed. She would go back for the naan alone. My dad got the lamb tagine, which he raved about. The sweet waitress listened patiently to his happy ravings and even contributed, stating that the kosher meat and preparation and cooking in the tagine makes all the difference. As the table was being cleaned, the chef Zou came out and asked if we enjoyed everything. He, too, was such a lovely person- very personable. Then he offered us complimentary dessert. No way dude, we've already been annoying enough showing up ten minutes before you close your kitchen. He insisted, so we compromised by taking it to go. As he dropped it off at the table he explained how there's no dairy because everything is kosher and the pastry chef is excellent and he hopes we love it...I mean that is a guy who loves his job. To top off the weirdness (in an awesome way), they had to unlock the doors to let us out. We literally had had the restaurant to ourselves. And these people could NOT have been more hospitable. As we told them- we will be back, albeit at an earlier and more appropriate hour!

Imagine, that you are stopping by a house of someone you know, but he is not home. His mom welcomes you and invites you to share lunch with rest of family. This is how we felt coming into Jerusalem. Welcomed, but still like strangers. Perhaps we just got there at wrong time - few hours before closing for Shabbat. Don't expect anything fancy - home style serving, ascetic decor, that desires to be cleaned. Food was good - sample platter was gone in seconds, pita was hot and delicious. Schnitzel was a bit dry and not worth any more mentioning. If you want to know what food on the streets of Jerusalem tastes like (at least that's how I imagine it), this would be a good place to visit. Otherwise, keep looking.

I really enjoyed the food here. The service wasn't great; the server had to randomly leave while I was still eating, but the nice woman who had cooked all my food walked out to let me know the situation and she went back and forth working the kitchen, dining area, and register. From the outside (and let's be honest, the inside too) you would consider the food questionable at best. Happy to report it was delicious and I'm still alive several hours later :)

Falafel, Tabuli, Tahini and Naan for meal, and house dessert Mallehebi rounded up my order. Excellent taste, service, and attention from chef Zou and Rebecca. Try their hot sauce, you will love it's exquisite flavor. Recommend this place as excellent for middle eastern food loving vegetarian.

This place is excellent. If you ever want to replicate the shawarma scene from The Avengers then this is the place for you! Even if you don't get the shawarma, all of the food is delicious!

It doesn't look like much from the outside but this place shouldn't be missed from any falafel lovers like myself. Best falafel I've ever had. My wife lived in Israel for a few ears and she claims this is almost as good as she got there. As far as the rest of the menu, I can't comment as I have been here 20 times but only got the falafel. The pita is always fresh, falafel balls perfectly fried and the tahini is great. Ask for it spicy if you like spicy food, it was suggested to me once and I have not gone back to the regular version since. The restaurant is small and can get smokey as the other reviewer commented. They sometimes are showing Israeli soccer games and it can get a little crowded in there.

Ok so unlike most of you, I have never tried this type of food. At least not in this form, calling itself Jerusalem. I have had food from Saudi Arabia and I found some similarities. That said, upon the reviews already posted, I knew before I walked in that I would order the falafel sandwich. I am glad I did. It was very very good. I also ordered a small app of humus. This too was very good if not some of the smoothest hummus I have ever had. The bread served with it was outstanding. Once finished, I asked Dalia, the owner, what a falafel was. Se explained some of the main ingredients and how it is made. She also pointed out that it is made fresh right then and there. They are not made ahead of time and re-warmed. I saw a few other things on the menu that looked tantalizing and I will come back and try them on my next trip through town. CORRECTION AND UPDATE- A previous review mentioned how you could smoke inside this smallish Resturant. I want to assure you that this is no longer the case. Dalia explained that in a previous location, patrons were allowed to smoke. However, since moving to this new address, there is NO MORE SMOKING. Do yourself a favor, and try something a bit different and go by Jerusalem Resturant. Tell Dalia, I said hello.

Went on a Sunday at lunch time and there was only one lady working...her help hadn't shown up yet. But she was awesome! Cooked the food and served it and it was delicious.

Great felafel sandwich. Husband liked his chicken schnitzel and son enjoyed his lamp kabob sandwich. Daughter ordered rice and beans and said that is was really good. We brought grape leaves home for other daughter and they were gone within minutes. Great food, great price.

My wife and I like to stop at places we've never been on trips out of town and try new or different types of food. We tried this place in Myrtle Beach and we were quite surprised at how good the food was. We had never eaten this type of food (one reason we wanted to go in), and so we needed a lot of help to discover what we wanted. The wait staff was friendly and willing to discuss the food as well as make recommendations that helped us. The only problem we had was that we came in during a day when they were going to close early and be closed for a day or two for a holiday, and so they did not have the food I wanted (shawarma--I've wanted some since the Avengers movie), but the waitress directed us to food that she thought we would like. My wife had a falafel and I had schnitzel. They were both excellent and we would recommend them to anyone visting.

Excellent food! We felt like we were in Israel with the Israeli TV on. My wife loved the sampler plate and the grilled chicken was wonderful. It was a bonus that our waitress was beautiful.

Kosher Myrtle Beach for the win!! However, you don't have to keep koaher to enjoy this place. Fast, friendly and delicious! As good as we've had in Eretz Yisroel or New York :) quality doesn't have to go out the window because you're away from the kosher food capitols. Check out Jerusalem Restaurant for great falafel, schnitzel and sides.

The food was good. The service is terrible. Don't get there after 8 pm, they won't have many items on the menu. The waitress did not know what the special was and when she came back said it didn't matter cuz they were out of it. When I went to place my order, again she said they were out of it, but had everything else, but then when I chose a third item, again they were out of it. We had ordered some drinks and she forgot about them and brought them midway through our meal after I had to go track her down. At the end when we got our bill, about to pay it, she came back and took the bill back because she forgot to add the drinks to the bill. Where I come from the drinks would've been comp-Ed when they are forgotten. Don't get me wrong, the food was great, but don't come here if you expect good service as well.
